DC Root on JJJ's morning show I believe it might have been yesterday. I just heard the ad for it Monday. Can anyone be bothered to find it pod-casted on the JJJ site?
Thanks dribs and gohst for that find.
DC sounds a little peeved at the intro.
I've also noticed Sounds of Spring Festival has finally taken the TISM reference to ROOT! off the poster.

While we're on the subject of ROOT! (in a ROOT! sub-forum of all places), do any of you guys know if there's a recording of Danni From Dan Murphy's floating around? It's one my favs.
Or other older live stuff thats not on CD and probably wont be played live again?

Danni from Dan's was on youtube iirc. And on some concert footage I nabbed from here...
DC sounded rather peeved indeed.
Although regarding the TISM reference on the Root! posters I got last time I was in Melbourne, I thought that they may have put them on....or was it the venue that held said gig put the references on?
Now to listen to the interview, cheers for that.

I don't know, skip...but the reference of ex TISM makes my skin crawl each time I hear it. I mean, TISM are TISM and ROOT! is ROOT!.
6 degrees of separation and I'm probably related to a Nazi war criminal or Ray from the newsagent, but I'm not handing out thankyou notes to dead cattle on a Footrot farm for a living!

Indeed. The reference was pushed a little bit too much early on and at the end. It was a good way to get into the band, but I'm over the link being mentioned too. I guess for most people, it'd be their first exposure to the band, so whatever brings the punters in is good for the band in the long run...as long as people don't go to the gigs interstate thinking it will be TISM2.
Hah - just listened to the interview. I still think the song is a bit generic and obtuse compared to some of their other new ones, but it's not a bad cut. It pretty much shows the different facets of the band, so I guess it'll be a good first single. It's growing on me.
However, the Doctor mentioned that mid-last-year, someone sent him a link about the new band. Guess who that someone was????

I guess....Stephanie Rice???
If she sent the link, she would have got a ROOT! out of it.
If she puts her name to a Rice Cooker ala George Foreman style... I will then believe that the world is indeed quite fucked!

It's just been upped onto the MySpace page.

I'm not Stephanie Rice ;)
Yeah, I sent him the link. I may not have been the only one, but I was pretty chuffed that the Doctor mentioned that 'someone' sent him the link...I'll claim it.
